The LS anaconda is my mountain marathon/orienteering shoe. Low profile, aggressive but it is vicious on the heel if I wear thin socks!

Can I get in on this. Looking for an alrounder for Mountain Marathon duty. Used roclites before but the latest pair I just don't get in with, possibly too roomy, was used to the precision fit. Have a pair of Mudclaws 300s (yellow) in good nick but have been looking at salomon fell raiser/speedcross. Either of these work out for a MM where I'll be going all day? Ta
Have a look at Running Bear, their Mountain Bear Ground Control are very good mixed terrain shoes, and half the price of Salomon's
www.runningbear.co.uk , Alderley Edge shop but available online
Also the new version of the More Mile are cheap and great grip
For mixed terrain I would go with Roclites if inov8 suit your feet and pocket
(I may be the Imelda Marcos of running shoes)
Thanks for that I'll take a look. Just didn't get on with my last pair of roclites, I'll see if there are any precision fit out there.
Will have a look at the mountain bear too. Sounds cute!
OP, take my advice and check out a pair of Cheviot 3's....see thread below. Your wallet and feet will thank you!

I also buy Cheviots, 3 pairs at a time which cost about the same as one "branded" pair of trainers. I live in them almost, walking and running and they last no better or worse than trainers 3 times the price.
For the not too serious racer and beginner I would recommend them.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.
Not that Moley and me are cheapskates or anything...........

Cheers all for the replies.
Went for a pair of X Talons (£75) in the end, going to put them through their paces this weekend.
The Speedcross felt like I was tottering about in a pair of stilts.
