I'm looking for a short for long distances in hotter temperatures:
My ideal: a shortish (~4"-5" leg) short with a boxer liner, and preferably a flat rather than bunched waist band and a plenty of pockets for running without having to carry a pack.
Most shorter shorts seem to come with a brief liner which I find chafes after about 20k.
There are plenty of longer '2in1' style shorts - typically too hot.
On longer races I have been wearing cycling style tight shorts, but feel pretty self conscious wearing these on a day to day basis running around town.
The closest that I have found is the Salomon S-lab Sense Short, but I'm struggling with the idea of spending £70 on a pair of shorts.
Anyone got any other options? Why does no-one make anything like this? Why do all shorter shorts come with a brief liner?
