I assume we're discussing the snap election here. It makes sense to me. Conservatives well ahead in the polls; Labour politically out where the buses don't run. Potential for large swings based on outcomes of Brexit negotiations.
Why not nail things down for another 5 years. Also, Mrs May wants to minimise the effect of people like Nicola Sturgeon making political gain out of "you don't have a proper mandate".
We clearly need a separate thread.
