    Agreed. In my day it was a favourite race of mine and the shots of Swirral Edge reminded me why.

    The contrast between Ted/Cal and the sky is brilliant - looks so good I initially thought it was photoshopped!
    The picture of Rhys will haunt me though...

    Cheers for the comments Wharfee, GB and ba-ba.

    Taking the shots and looking through my 300mm lens ba-ba you could really see the cloud being sucked in behind the runners. Through the naked eye this was not as obvious. Later Harvey Lord, from Black Combe, ran past me and said "Great light for photography!" He was right and to be honest I hadn't really thought about it until that point.

    I don't use any kind of advanced photographic software. I only have the basic iPhoto package my computer came with. My favourite feature with that is to desaturate photographs and make them into mono (or just desaturate them because I don't like a lot of colour). I may crop the odd photo too, but as a rule I try to keep them as original as possible.
