    Adidas Swoops - what next

I know some of this has been posted before in various forms, and that they weren't everyone's favourite fell shoe, but I am now on my last pair of Swoop 2's after having had a couple of pairs squirreled away since they stopped making them.

So, at the risk of rolling three posts into one, any help with the following would be much appreciated:

    1. What would you recommend as an alternative in terms of similar snug fit and cushioning? I mainly use them for mountain marathons, so they would need to be a good fit for contouring and off-path running.

    2. Has anyone tried the new Adidas off-road / 'outdoor' running shoes, Terrex X-King or similar?

    3. And if all else fails, has anyone had their Swoops resoled before, and where would you recommend to get it done?!

    Many thanks

    For resoles, ask at:- http://www.lancashiresportsrepairs.co.uk/

    For alternatives:- Innov 8, X-Claws
I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!

I think the Swoop is a moulded sole so repair probably isn't feasible. You can still get Kanadias and the More Mile Cheviot seems a decent value shoe.

I have had Swoops resoled at LSR and the result was a superb pair of shoes.

    Hi Spork..

I have the Terrex X King or whatever they're called. There's a review I did somewhere down this page.

But in summary im very happy with them. They performed well enough on a sodden Wasdale (shame I didn't!), and got on fine with them at Peris. As a runner of modest ability i find i get on with them at least as well as a mudclaw. Although im not a crack descender, I've found myself slipping no more than I would in a mudclaw. As my review mentions, performance and durability were my main doubts. Durability still to be proven, but comfort wise they feel fine and better than a mudclaw.

I have 2 pairs of Swoop 2 which are brand new and have not been out of the box.
Available to anyone who wants them at a reasonable price.

I don't suppose either of them are size 10.5 ??

Anyhow, thanks all for your helpful responses. Looks like I have a couple of options to try before I have to leave my Swoops behind!!
