Right to go?
Right to go?
I say sack the telegraph instead. This could have strengthened Sam's position as it plays to his position as a winner. He just had to say "I knew it was wrong, but was trying to get them to pay me £300,000 before letting them know".
He'll be remembered at the England manager with the best win ratio.
Back in the 90s we had Venables in charge with the dentist chair incident in Hong Kong, which was the most publicised part of an oft drunk team, that caused damage in flight and generally were an embarrassment.
Hoddle - well he had Eileen Drewery and he injected players without permission of their clubs, with who knows what? He then said something about disabled people being punished for sins in a former life.
Eriksson spent more time in the gossip columns than in the sports pages.
Hodgson - it was the ultimate embarrassment not qualifying for the group stages in Brasil, and they kept him on - unbelievable.
So compared to the above, I'd say Sam is not in their league and it can only be that his face never fit in the first place.

For somebody who is very much middle middle-class, it is hard to understand the greed of people who have so much money that they feel that they need more and are prepared to go bending/breaking the rules to get more.
Bet he is a sorry many now. Pity as I have a lot of respect for him for what he done with Bolton.
