I was marshalling on Cat Bells and about 30 minutes after the Waltz started a couple of blokes with race numbers appeared from the wrong direction. They said they'd missed the start of the race and wondered which way should they go now. I pointed out that they were on the last checkpoint and they should have been down in the bottom of the valley!

I suppose I should have kit-checked them, as presumably they didn't have maps, otherwise they'd have known which way to go.

    Must try better next year.

In fact this is probably them in the background of this photo.

One of them was a gentleman of our acquaintance, Yiannis. At least in reversing the route they did not cause any number/count issues for us marshals, certainly not at High Spy.

    Ian.
I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!

No Geoff, not them, wrong club vests. That shot must have been some proud parents prior to the AW start.

    Noel,
To finish behind Carl & have a quicker time I think you must have run on lower contours, that trod from Outerside may be more important than it appears.

Beau dog and I on support duty on Highspy as MrRTS competed in TWA. His 4th race of 50@50. There are a few photos here with TWA and WA. No obligation but if you wish to make a small donation to the Thomas Theyer Foundation to raise funds to encourage outdoor activities for youngsters in difficult life circumstances they would be very grateful. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Nigel-Jeff Super running everyone. Thank you to the runner that stopped to take a photo of Beau and I as I was attempting a selfie haha.
