    Cheap Windproof

I am in need of a replacement windproof for my Montane Featherlite, as all of the elastic has started to go in it after many years hard service.

I want one as light and simple as possible, without a hood. The Montane was ideal, but I also want something as cheap as possible!

    Any suggestions anyone?

    thanks
    Dave

I am happy with an Inov8 race elite 105 windshell. Packs down small into supplied bag and has thumb loops. various suppliers have them for around £55.
    One step beyond.

Seconded. For £30 it's hard to beat:

haven't tried either of these, but look good enough and are reasonable prices:

    ....it's all downhill from here.

Good suggestions chaps - thanks. All 3 look pretty good. Never had anything from Howies, but definitely rate Alpkit kit! I like the look of the Inov-8 one, and with all of their stuff its a good design. Just a tad on the pricey side for a tight-wad like me :-)

PS - prefer a smock ideally....
