But Ian, don't you remember the music of your teenage years?
Interestingly Clown Shoes was released in the UK by Liberty which had previously licensed their product to London - American (undoubtedly the greatest record label of all time) but Decca (who owned L- A) and Liberty fell out around 1961 and so Liberty established their own label in the UK. So London - American, in the normal spiteful way of record companies whose licenses are about to expire, flooded the market with Liberty releases, killing off Burnette's career over here. So Burnette was lucky to have a minor hit in 1962 but ironically by then he had left Liberty in the USA to join Chancellor Records (home of Frankie Avalon, Fabian et al) whose releases in the UK were on Pye: home of Petula Clark!
I never thought much of Burnette as a singer, although he and his brother (Dorsey) did write three million-selling songs for Rick Nelson which someone, somewhere will still be getting royalties for.

Whyever isn't everyone using Locklaces, or cheaper imitations?
Begin afresh, afresh, afresh.
I didn't say that I used them. I just kept buying them just in case, I think, because they were cheap in Ikea.
