Ok, I'll try...
Numbers large enough to be read easily by marshals on the course and at the finish
Sequential numbers starting from 1 (sound obvious but its very tempting to use left over numbers from last year)
Waterproof, you don't want runners returning with a handful of soggy paper, it does rain here sometimes.
Robust enough to be pinned to a race vest.
Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run
fold your number as small as possible and pin it where the marshalls will never see it!!!
