    mandatory kit bum bags

I'm looking for a bum-bag/waist pack that would comfortably carry any mandatory kit for fell races(water bottle holders/pouches not essential), any suggestions?

My favourite is the Rock+Run Superlite, but they don't seem to have it on their site at the moment.

Inov-8 make some ok ones, and lots of others will recommend the Pete Bland one.

Hi Louis, Pete Bland bags are very popular and good value. I use the OMM bag which is a bit more expensive but has plenty of space and a feeding bottle.

The omm 3l waist pouch is also quite popular. Can fit all kit, 500ml water and some food. Compression straps to stop everything bouncing around too

I have used the Omm 3L https://www.theomm.com/product/waist-pouch/ and the Omm Ultra https://www.theomm.com/product/ultra-waist-pouch/

I use the smaller one, for shorter runs and fell races and the Ultra if I am out for longer. I use the ultra more in winter as it is easier to pack extra kit. I also take the ultra if I am taking a camera.

Some photos of the 3L and what you can fit in it http://sbrtrfr.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/here-kitty.html

I bought a Lowe Alpine Lighflite 2 pack last week and it is really good. Just enough space in the 2l main pocket for all the mandatory kit, with a couple of external pockets that can take a buff/gloves/gels/whistle etc plus an internal key clip. It's comfortable to wear, doesn't bounce and has an elasticated cord pulled by one hand that both compresses the pack and makes the outer pockets more secure. It also has a loop for clipping a light to - hence the name I guess! Great little pack for shorter and/or summer races when you don't need more than the mandatory kit, and all for £15!

Ive just got an OMM Phantom, which just about fit my kit in for the Donard Challenge. Good quality zips and a few clips for securing keys etc to, also a couple of stuff pockets at the side.

Has anyone tried this one from Inov-8?

I currently use their Race Elite 3, but there's no way I can fit full kit in there.

The I-8 Race Elite 3 was the best one if you wanted to carry drinks, but they don't make it any more. Cag in one side, pants in the other, compass and whistle squeezed in somewhere along with a printed map. If you were on a OS map you can just carry it in your hand. There's nothing on the market as far as i know that does the same job; it's either no bottle holder or it's a fly fishing vest.

At the risk of sounding like I've got shares in Lowe Alpine, the Lightflite Hydro Beltpack seems to fit that bill Mr B - similar to the one I descrobed above, but bigger, and with a bottle pouch sandwiched between two pockets just like the Race Elite 3 did....
