    Un affiliated runners

I have been looking at old threads, and want to ask the question. If you are not affiliated to UKA or any other organisation, are you still insured with UKA at a Fell Race?, In road events you pay an additional £2 for the privilege. I am a member of both but I want to check as we have some club issues around affiliation. Cheers.

Someone else may clarify, but I don't think there's insurance as you see it.

You don't actually pay £2 extra for insurance at road events, but the affiliated runners get a £2 discount.

Runners are covered at a UKA event (including unattached) but in a limited sense. It's not personal injury cover.

    This may help.

    you could try this
ashas been already said, you're not "insured" as such as participation in races is at your own risk.
    ....it's all downhill from here.

You have posted a link to a file that exists on your own computer's hard drive. This is not accessible to anybody else.

My understanding is that if you enter a race held under FRA "jurisdiction", are compliant with the entry requirements and are accepted as a legitimate entry, then the race organiser is covered by the UKA Public/Products Liability insurance against any claim from you for damages (albeit that you have entered the race on the understanding that you take part at your own risk and that many claims for damages would be ruled out).

If you want to insure yourself against injury, loss of earnings or death that occurs as a result of injury suffered in a properly organised race, you need to provide that cover yourself, not expect the race organiser's cover to provide it.
