If you're looking for a challenge in the Cheviot hills I recommend the McWilliams round. This is a 32 mile loop starting in Wooler and heads along St Cuthbert's way towards Yetholm. Then along the Pennine way up the Cheviot then Hedgehope before a nice meander back to Wooler.

This is a fantastic challenge and is recorded by the organiser (Glen McWilliams). You just need to register your interest in doing it, he sees you off and then you submit your time. There are ceritficates for sub 7hrs (gold), sub 8hrs (silver) and sub 9hrs (bronze).

We attempted it last week, weather wasn't great but the route is fantastic and you can enjoy the wonderful Northumberland National park.

The McWilliams round have a page on facebook and are currently building a website.

enjoy.
