I think that any attempt without any kind of verification should be dismissed, even a GPS watch can be handed from person to person, trackers are normally attached to packs witch can be handed from person to person, I think the club should stick to a very specific set of rules otherwise if people know there's ways of cheating they will.
Lot of trust in this game, who is to say a "witness" was actually there.
Ryan's GPS trace and splits are on Strava. He had support on some of leg three by the look of it and lost most of the time against the record on leg two:

I was thinking the same. The footbridge IS still missing, so there isn't really another option (other than the silly Carlside route).

I know this isn't the question on everyone's lips, but why are there so many Strava segments called Honister Pass Climb?? They are nowhere near Honister either.
