    I think that any attempt without any kind of verification should be dismissed, even a GPS watch can be handed from person to person, trackers are normally attached to packs witch can be handed from person to person, I think the club should stick to a very specific set of rules otherwise if people know there's ways of cheating they will.

    And who is to say that the witness and contender actually reach the peaks, all to easy for mates to say `is this the summit? dunno but it must be near enough who would know any different especially without a gps trace

    I was thinking the same. The footbridge IS still missing, so there isn't really another option (other than the silly Carlside route).

    I know this isn't the question on everyone's lips, but why are there so many Strava segments called Honister Pass Climb?? They are nowhere near Honister either.

    Strava and its "auto segments". Stupid idea, that grabs a name from the nearest road.
