Rob Hope won with Ted second

Rob Hope achieved his 10th Kilnsey Show win today. Rob was well clear at the summit and even the dynamic descending skills of 2nd placed Ted Mason were not enough to catch Rob. The ladies top spot had a few twist and turns with last years winner Caroline Lambert 1st to the summit only to be overtaken by Bofra star Emma Hopkinson on the descent. On entering the show field and the large cheering crowd Caroline was able to regain the lead and take the honours in a sprint finish.
Many thanks to all involved for what is probably the craziest 1 mile in the fell calendar....brilliant race and beltin big show atmosphere.

Provisional results on http://www.woodentops.org.uk/ photos to follow, well done to Yorkshire tea drinker Rob Hope and Caroline Lambert, thanks to Mick Hawkins and Ted Mason for organising, if any of you want a challenge have a go at this classic - the record is 7 minutes 35 seconds by none other than the organiser Mick Hawkins!

"Lovely smile!" The commentator was great.

What a mad race, thoroughly enjoyed it though. Many thanks to organisers and spectators. And well done Rob, of course.

    Ten for Hope!

I've uploaded a short vid of Rob winning the race for the tenth time (not sure if you need to be subscribed to Facebook in order to watch this?).
Apologies for the low resolution footage in this version - best viewed on a screen no bigger than a smartphone.
