    Forum Champs

    Forum Champs:

Individual Race Points to be scored using same method as Lakeland Classics Trophy, i.e. percentage comparison to winner's time, e.g.:
    Winner's Time = 100 mins
    Your Time = 130 mins
    Your Points = 70
[everybody compares to the overall winner of the race: Ladies, Vets, everybody]

At the end of each calendar month, you get credited with your best race-points.
[you must declare ON THIS THREAD your race results, before the 5th of the following month]
[you can do as many races as you like each month]
[for a race to count, it must be listed in the FRA calendar, or run under FRA rules, or be an LDWA Challenge event]
[Team events are OK, and individual Relay leg times, but not overall Relay results]

As the year progresses, you add your month-points together, with your (up to) 6 best month-points counting to your 2012 total.
[no restriction on counting race lengths, i.e. all your counting races could be Shorts, Mediums or Longs, or whatever combination]

You can sign up at any time during the year, but no retrospective month/race points will be awarded.

It would make things a bit more interesting/sociable if people declared their next few intended races, but this is not compulsory.

    So far we have:

Rob Furness (Rombalds Stride, Trollers Trot, Anni Waltz (or TWA), Coniston, Wharfedale Marathon, Borrowdale (or Sedbergh), Yorkshireman)
    Sam Harrison (Edale Skyline, 3Ps)
    noel
    superflyguy
DazTheSlug (Pennine Bridleway Relay (Leg2), Cloud Nine)
    Eleanor

Everybody feel free to add yourself to the list

and declare any race results already for January...

Just a quickie - are LDWA events, Rombalds and Trollers, or events very similar to them, Wharfedale off road, strictly fell races? I find them more chilled out and far less competitive and I even came third in the Malhamdale Meander once!!! Easy points do you think?

And another question . I ran Captain Cooks on new years day which is very likely to be my 'counter' for January where the winners time was 32:31 and I did 40:23 results. So I get how many points? Is it 75.5???

You can count me in, one query though
    or run under FRA rules
    could include club races?

I think to it should be races open to all so FRA, LDWA etc only

Haha. The more running around I do taking photos and having fun, the better I get at races...... although its a very very gradual process

If there is room for an additional little one based in the South I would be game for this - Not looking at doing too many races as I have other commitments but I am looking at a race per month that I will travel for.

Initial one being Box Hill (Jan), still looking for some others but Fellsman and Welsh 1000 have been applied for.

might be an idea to give an example of exactly how to do the score calculation to avoid any confusion and to ensure everybody gets same solution.
