So as the title says, what are people's thoughts on the best Fell races in the Lake District between Jan and June. 😊 Hardest, most enjoyable, unique...

Buttermere Horseshoe for me the hardest. Although I'm doing Ennerdale for the first time this year in June, so will be interesting to see how it compares.

Buttermere Sailbeck is a cracker of an AM with more climbing than some ALs. Will definitely be aiming to do that this year.
The Anniversary Waltz has to be one of the most enjoyable and the associated Teenager with altitude surely one of the toughest.

Buttermere Sailbeck for me too. Obviously not as big an undertaking as the "super longs" but packs a lot in. The stand out bits are the undulating ridge run over Knott Rigg and Ard Crags followed by the steep descent through the heather to Rigg Beck and also the grassy plunge back down to Buttermere from Whiteless Pike at the end (if you have enough left in your legs to enjoy it).

From what I've done (which isn't very many):
Grasmere - wonderful atmosphere and a genuine "race".
Teenager - long and steep and very enjoyable

Coledale Horseshoe is also a big favourite of mine. Great climbs up Grisesale Pike and Eel Crag as well as craggy descents and the run down off Barrow at the end is very exciting!

If June is inclusive then Ennerdale for me. A brilliant race route with lots of different terrain, tough climbs and tight cut-offs. Then after Pillar when legs are shot the going gets fast!

Great Lakes 2012. Monsoon conditions, cracking fun.
