I think I might give this a go on Sunday. It's got the wonderful descent from Arant Haw to Winder and back to Sedbergh.

The perfect antidote to having to go to work on Sunday morning.

It wasn't so wonderful in the 14 miler the other week, but I think I will have a go as well as I might be able to enjoy it this time in the shorter race!!

    Yup.

At the church of St Dawkins, and worship the guy on the back of the ten pound note.

The course isn't as punishing as Sedbergh hills. It's much more fun, has all the scenery and we're all taking cakes to sell after the race.

Well it was tipping it down on the motorway on the way up, but at least the rain stopped, even though the cloud was low.
Tough climb to Crook to start and then after that - not too bad - a team mate went a bit too far right from Knott to Calders and ended up with a steep climb next to the fence to get back on track - but despite the low cloud, I managed OK - and happy with 1:25 at he end of it.
Thanks to the organisers, nice event - good course - probabaly back next year.
My daughter enjoyed the junior race as well.

Great race. Needed navigational skills today as one or two of us took bad route choices including some local lads! My bad choice was the same as Witton Parks off the Knott to Calder descending to low and having a really steep traverse for what seemed forever. The route would be very scenic with good visibility so hopefully next year!
Many thanks to Billy and the Helm team for a great race and well done Harry H Howgill nice win.
