There's a chap called Mike Jones in Loughborough, former Chair of Leics County Council IIRC, was a Borough and County Councillor for a very long time, who spends a lot of time in his retirement going out with his wife picking litter.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

Stu 'Shelf' Walker (Dark Peak) has set up 'Runners against rubbish' and is getting some spread on local radio in S/W Yorkshire.

I think Lindsay Buck (?) of CFR also had a piece about here somewhere about picking litter on Scafell. May have been in the Fell Runner but I've also seen a video on local news.

I try and pick a bit up when I'm out and about but should do more.
