Apparently there was some trouble? Somebody shouting and swearing at the race marshals....totally unacceptable if true!

Hoping to be there on Thursday. If anyone spots a baldy-headed fella in a purple Fell Ponies vest it’ll be me trying to keep up with Stef, my wife

Top race. I used to love this one. And not only for the name of the pub!

I was looking out for you and your purple vest but did not spot you DT. A great little race. I had a decent run and managed 49th o/a and 1st MV60. The Farmers Blonde was good too.
As we set off down the road at the start I heard a jangle in front of me and a runner stopped and turned around, almost causing a pile up, having dropped a key. Apparently this prompted another runner to continually check that his motorbike key was still in his pocket.Once over the stile, about a mile in, he checked for his key and it was not there. He then retraced his steps to the start but did not find his key so he very responsibly returned his number to the RO and set off again to look for his key. Apparently some of his club mates who had finished the race went to help in his search. Low and behold the key was found. It had somehow managed to find its way, unnoticed, into his gusset area!
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

I heard about the first key incident, but not the second. Amazing.

Sorry to miss you DT. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

There was another funny bit for me. The MV50 prize was given out to the wrong person, who was really pleased to win it. The funny bit was how much amusement there was among the now-second V50's mates when he was asked to hand his medal and prize back. Thankfully he was very understanding about it - these things happen.

It was good to see, among a field of so many old people, that most of the first ten places went to U-23s, U-18s etc.
