    Lantern Pike Fell Race

Don't forget the classic Lantern Pike Fell Race. It is part of the Hayfield Country Show and Sheepdog Trials, which is celebrating it's 30th anniversary this year. It's at Spray House Farm, Little Hayfield in the High Peak on Saturday 15th September at 2pm. The show is on on the Saturday and the Sunday and is open from 10am until 5pm, there is a bus over form Glossop as the parking is restricted.

I believe the Fell Race has some good prizes this year, oh and an unbreakable record. Although I think a local lad may be going for it!

See you in the race and the Craft tent.

Oh, decisions, decisions. Lantern Pike or Three Shires? I still can't make my mind up.

You should go and do this - it's the last junior championship race, so you can support the little blighters! (Some not so little!). Was a brilliant show last year.

Good point, Dom. I could do Three Shires (starts 11.00am), break the record - say 1hr 30min - then drive very fast to Hayfield arriving about 1.45pm, get the free bus to Little Hayfield - about 10mins - just in time for the 2.00pm start there. I could probably break Ricky Wilde's record there as well.

    Then I'd wake up...

And only if you didn't get lost in the mist like last Sunday

Ha ha! Thanks for reminding me! Pike O'Blisco in the mist could be tricky, but I think I'd cope with Lantern Pike!

Looks like I'm being pushed into doing the Plum Fair Race, doubt I will do the double.

    Strong words Dr.

I would have my money on the 7 time champion (the only loss in the last 8 years came through a timing error).
I would back Harry Harrison to beat you over 5 times the distance but I admire your fighting talk. Maybe if it was a drawing competition........
More excuses than a race start line!
