Lantern Pike Fell Race

Carol Haigh/Greenwood in her sort of race was phenomenal (and weighing 7 st 3 lb at 5' 3" didn't hurt). It is around 8 years since she last ran seriously on the fells but she still holds dozens of race records:

And on the "pure speed helps" theme, Carol was a junior Track International and in 1985 ran 3000m in 9.07 "without any real track training".

Wow! Must be the most records held by one person?

Also noticed from that list: A.Styan's record for Langdale Horseshoe, which is only a few weeks "younger" that R.Wilde's for LP

Shall we now have a heated debate on the LH thread about that one...

Thanks Luv Shack, Sadly only arrived prior to the U16 race so only managed to get the start and unfortunately not the finish. All the photos have been reduced in size to 1024x768 pixels.

No problem having copies for your race records. Took some other photos of the Saturday in general before the race not surr how many though.

Funny, I'm not allowed to post photos of juniors on our club website because it is against our child protection policy - even if the parent agrees, yet here is a website that is publishing loads of pictures without parental consent. Does make our policy seem daft to me.
