    Which Campsite Buttermere

    Hi All,

I'm camping this weekend up in Buttermere, having never camped here. I have a choice of 2 campsites Dalegarth and Syke Farm.

    Any views/reccomendations would be appreciated.

Also I am keen to watch the England qualifier on Saturday do any of the pubs have a TV with BBC on them around that area or am I likely to travel to keswick for a box.

    Cheers
    Jamie

Not stayed at either of them but went there last year and they both look ok.

We stayed at Seatoller Farm campsite which is about 5 or 6 miles away and it was perfect - quiet and basic but not too basic if you know what I mean!

I've stayed at the Syke Farm campsite a few years ago, and it was great - lovely spot next to the stream with wide views out towards Crummock Water.
It's right in Buttermere village as well, although there's practically nothing to it, so not much of an advantage
There's one Hotel/pub (Fish Inn?) but don't know if it will have a telly

I've not stayed on the Dalegarth (Hassness?) one, but I would imagine it would be lovely - right near Buttermere lake itself - I imagine it'd be a bit quieter that Syke Farm...

I stayed at Dalegarth B&B last month. The campsite is about 200yds from the lakeside, it looked flat and it was well populated but not that big. I would say there were two grassed areas with about a dozen tents each. Dalegarth is owned by the Ramblers Association, so I would expect facilities are OK. They did meals in the B&B, don't know if they are available for campers though. Its a lovely spot, if the weather forecast is accurate you will have lovely evenings by the lake.
