    Re: Stanage Struggle

It's that time of year again, mow the lawn for one last time, charge the head torch batteries, prepare for the Stanage Struggle....

Unfortunately we are unable to use the field for car parking this year. There will be some parking at Hathersage Business Park for the early birds, there is a car park in the center and some parking on the roads around the village. Please park safely and consideratly and share transport where possible.

Thank you and hope to see lots of you on Sunday.

Missed a year (2?) but it looks like I'll be back. Think I've persuaded a workmate along and he's mentioned he's persuaded his brother.
Only think is I'm giving them both 25 years.....
Think I'd best leg it as fast as possible up to the Plantation.

    Re: Stanage Struggle

Enjoyed this again. Forgot how much ascent there was and how much fun the descent was from 3 years ago. Remembered why I decided I'd return though.
Didn't manage to beat the workmate, then again, I didn't expect to. I'm giving him 25 years.....
He came in a good 5 mins before me, but I'm happy. Course PB by over a minute :-)
Saw a few with cameras out, including a nice one on the top of Stanage. Are we expecting a 2012 photos page or anyone know of any links?

I trotted up and watched the race on Stanage Edge. Great to see Stu Bond leading the way again after his injury probs this last year. Quite a comeback recently

So it was you, with the nice camera at the top of Stanage! :-)
Spotted you early and having seen loads of pics of people this year doing the 'Mo-Bot', figured I'd do something different. Therefore a quick decision for a Bolt pose....
I sort of regretted it straight away!
    link
I'll go have a scan see if I can spot the workmate!

Not me, I was marshalling at the top of the big climb, Mark emailed the organiser with the link to his photos.

Fresh from Scafell Pike race MrRTS's decided to have a play on this brilliant little local race to us. 36th race of his 50@50. This is a "Fat Boys" organised race and it is blooming brilliant. I took the photos just below "Top Half Turn" or as you drop off Stanage Edge. The 1st guys were in a down pour but from mid pack the sun started to shine once again. Great running everyone. A tough race this on but so much fun on that descent can be had. Anyone that wishes to make a small donation to the Thomas Theyer Foundation please follow the link https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Nigel-Jeff If you would like the original message me with your e-mail quoting the file number bottom left of the photo I will send you the original with none of the writing on. Well done everyone. Thank you to the organisers, helpers, super friendly Marshals and Edale MRT.
