Hi Safety Pin. Had a wonderful time thankyou We did the 20 mile option too and took about 5 hours too. Overall time was 5.22 including the checkpoints, but we did rather linger at checkpoint 2, the bowls of grapefruit went down a treat. The wedding guests did look rather bemused at the runners and walkers traipsing through their party didn't they? (Though we did actually miss CP3, as we were still full-up). Really enjoyed the run across the Roaches, and it was thrilling enough to give me a real second wind at that late point in the run. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay to really make the most of the splendid buffet at the end.

Can't wait for the next one. Have you got another planned?
I think I'll walk this bit....

Juicer, I hit the grapefruit too at checkpoint 2. Easy to digest and keep on running ! My next Ldwa will probably be peakers stroll in july, unless I find another one before then. If u haven't done peakers stroll before, its well worth doing - one of my favourite races, and usually on a very hot day.

My next ones are Pendle Witch Way (28th April), then Bronte Moors Challenge (23rd June). Anyone else up for them?

Anyone running the 100 this weekend ? If so I shall be out there somewhere marshalling, and the Missus too.

But first she has to cook and make 50kg of potato salad on Friday night
    And boil 150 eggs
    And mince 10lbs onions

Just so you lot remain well fed - and you will be.

Be marshalling with Mrs FSS and others from W&NL at around the 75 mile mark and can highly recommend the potato salad to anyone doing the 100

This is going to be an interesting night. I have just left food + 12 large watermelons in an otter hide in the middle of knowhere (fellshoeshufflers checkpoint ), it opens at 4.00 am. But there's no knife - essential to cutting watermelons, so back home to fetch one.
Now off to a night checkpoint to see what's happening. Runners started quite fast, but not stopping to eat at checkpoints. When I advised one firsttimer to keep eating (a roadrunner) he looked at me kind of strange and asked why? Like I say, this could be an interesting (and long for them) night!
