    It's always been a popular event, and seems to be getting more so. They have a good event formula, which they stick to and seems to appeal to many.
    The venue changes (in Shropshire) each year and the exact course is kept secret till you arrive at the hall. Then you pick up the route and mark it on your map etc. before the start. This means that navigation comes into it as nobody has reccied or knows the route from before, almost basic orienteering. Add food, drink, good countryside, winter weather and it is fun for everyone.

    all the info is here i www.alangreenwood.biz/hvh/index.htm or email [email protected] to reserve place as it is filling up quick. they are really helpful. the course looks really busy with loads of paths and no long stretches to go at. looks good though. i spoke to them tonight and there arnt many places left.

    Thanks for that info Molehill....now I'm more aware of the LDWA events, I'll have to make sure I book up early for the 2008 SSC!!

    25 or 18ml Start at Tottington Youth Centre nr Bury, GR 777 129 Mass start at 8am Entry £6, £8 on the day.....


    LDWA site has all the details and membership is really good value too.

    Moo, according to the list of entrants I'm 189. I hope this isn't some dodgy attempt at identity theft. I'm booked in for the bacon butty option before the run. If its gone I'll know who to look for....
