Is this for the long route? I was suppose to be going to the lakes but not now so wondering if to do this and turn up on the day.

    Re: All LDWA events thread.

Is anyone thinking of doing the The Rombalds Stride (advertised as 25 but only 22miles). Its on Sat 3rd Feb and gos over Ilkley moor and over Otley Chevin - (about 3500ft of climb) - big local event 50/50 runners/walkers. About 300 did it last year.

I've now got an entry form but they dont appear to be widey available. Its organsied locally by 15th Airdale Scout Group. Let me know if anyone want any more details

I am dithering about whether to do this one. I've done it at least twice before,so no problems with the route (although lots of people take short cuts!). Loads of runners.

the main short cuts are from Hope Hill (Baildon moor), the climb after white wells (ilkley) and Quarry carpark (Chevin). Some double back and go up the steps to top of Chevin. I dont think this one gains a lot. Total distance with the short cuts is under 22 miles. Some like to believe its 25m working out an impressive pace - well thats what i do!
