    Explorer 277 doesn't go nearly far enough East. I'll be using an old Landranger 110
    I've never done this one, and I don't know the area very well, so I hope the more complex bits are well marked.
    What's the terrain like? Sounds like there should be quite a bit of good running.

    It's very, very runnable. Even for a non-fellrunner like me! Not sure how much the course has changed, but there's nothing particularly difficult, and didn't need a map in 2005. There are some paving stones, which get slippery when wet (cue Bon Jovi... ), and mid way round across the reservoir
    is a very fast section. From the description I guess the river crossing has been taken out?

    there are those agonising steps to run up amd that golf course part isnt easy , just keep thinking of the cakes

    surprised at the turnout,102 ran

    well i finally did my first race of the year and came 31st,happy with that,great to be racing again,good to see people i haven't seen in ages aswell
