    South Wales Winter Series 2008

Is there a South Wales Winter Series in 2008? Can anyone spill the beans on which races are in? What happened at Fan Fawr?

And as a side topic, what happened at the Black Mountains race? I couldn't make it to the race. Although I was physically in Shropshire, my heart was in South Wales that day. I'd love to know the results.

Llanbedr - Blaenavon seems like a long way away, but I'm already looking forward to it.

Details of the Winter Series are yet to be finalised, but Fan Fawr was the 1st in the series; to be followed by Sugar Loaf and then Blorenge - after that it gets rather vague!

Martin Shaw won Fan Fawr this year in a near record time (20 seconds or so outside).... great result

Black Mountains - Lloyd Taggert pipped Mark Palmer to the post in 2:24 or so

Thanks for the info. I've been trying to find details without much success. Do you know if the Kymin on 29 Dec will be in it again?

Fraid I don't know for sure but Old Greybeard seemed to indicate that the next race after the Blorenge will be in the new year, possibly the Darren and of course ending with PCC; Tor y Foel won't feature this year.

I doubt Kymin will be in. I will check with Rod The Rally to see if he is putting it on this year.
Fan Fawr was crackin'! Dry, grippy and lovely views. Still one of the most painful experiences known to man!!

Kymin is in the FRA handbook 2007. It was in the series a couple of years ago i think. Is Pen Cerrig Calch always the last one?

Yes, PCC is traditionally the last one in the series - followed by Series and race presentations in the Red Lion; and for the diehards the MDC AGM!

Does anyone know what distance these are and what ascent they include, as the link on the WFRA website doesn't seem to be working.

    Looking at probably doing Blorenge.

    Cheers
