On Monday Pete Simpson trotted across this on his 60th birthday in a time of 17hrs 40mins. He lost 40 mins to schedule on the first leg due to driving wind and rain, but recovered to finish just inside the time limit for the older than oldies.
This is his third crossing, and he's now planning another attempt on his 65th birthday when he'll have a full 24 hours to play with.
