Its better to have fought and lost, than not have fought at all.

I imagine getting to and parking at the race start will be the biggest challenge, however the snow has already melted off the bonnet of my car so may not be as big a problem as it looked like it could have been last night.

What would a full kit check require?
Will I be able to print the route map from the website and take that?
Also anyone have experience of registering on the day? how early would I need to get there to do this?
    Thanks

As long as you can navigate /take a 6 figure bearing from the map and its protected from a soaking that would be fine. Registration is busy but its well organised with plenty of people. No need to arrive especially early. Kit check would be standard full waterproof body cover, hat and gloves, map compass and whistle

That was ace, shortened route but some great boggy, slushy, rocky descending. Not normally a problem for me but feet went totally numb. Thanks to organisers and all the Marshalls, especially the pair at Carl Walk who seemed to be getting blown about a bit!

Agreed One-eyed Wonder! Cracking race, conditions were bonkers in parts. Ended up underwater at one point! Well organized and great marshals. A truly fun race

Had a great time too, who knew getting frozen and running round in a circle could be so much fun! Had a good race with green flash from these parts, but I suspect he's been doing some sly training as he kept passing me on the flat bits, eventually getting a gap on the next km last road and beating me by 5 seconds.

Only issue I had was with the surprisingly high number of fools running without kit, despite clear instructions that it must be carried... If you're daft enough to run in summer gear that's up to you, but carry what you're told or bu"*er off elsewhere!
