it might have been unpleasant had it rained/clagged but as it turned out the weather was delightfully calm for a short jog in the grass.

    When/where/how the published results anyone?

    Results here sometime soon hopefully:

Found this quite hard, very windy in parts and still suffering from a bit of a cold. Enjoyable non the less and some good opportunities for short cuts through the rougher stuff.

Shame that we didn't get to do Burbage but still a great route. I was very lucky coming back towards Houndkirk Moor that I could see the runner in front cut across (I think a short cut). I'd have gone a much longer route I think. Very easy track up to the hill.

    I loved it.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Sorry not to meet up with you, but glad we found Egglett. In some ways a bit of a disappointment not to do the route via Oxstones.

Well done Al, you had a stonking run.

Just about to download the route I took today from the GPS.

Thanks mate. I wasn't intending to overtake you so early on. I was comfortably sat behind you sheltering from the wind and keeping quiet, but then you face planted giving the game away. After that I managed to speed up a bit. Was a great race, very rough going.

In fact, I don't think I've ever seen so many people fall over in a race. Lots of superb commmando rolls left right and centre. Excellent fun.

Great fun indeed, thanks to the organisers for a much better route this year. Well chuffed with my position, 69th following a woeful 217th last year.

Based on my improvement over the last 12 months I will undoubtedly be British Champ next year

    Top race

<being a teeny bit of a sick individual I did enjoy the whole experience even though it was very tough and rough and I'm not sure I am fit enough to do it justice YET - but shhhh DONT tell anyone!>

    Legs are shot after yesterday!

A sprint finish with a ex-Junior GB track runner is not recommended (well that's what I was told).

A great course with plenty of variety and route choice. You could definately tell it was one of the first races of the season; everybody was packed in closely and nobody belted off from the gun, although the strong headwind I guess was partly to blame.

Sorry I didn't say hello Marvin, I did see you.
