I'll be there, not expecting a great run with all the training missed during the summer months, but will give it a go...

So how did we all do then? All I now is that Pike was in before me and Chaddy the Owl was after. The feathers have, at last, been plucked!
Anyway, considering all the time out this year, it wasn't too bad a start to the season, but certainly struggled in the last lap.

NITF, this was my first race in over a year, and, considering how much training i have been doing (running twice a week), i'm surprised i got so close to you!
This banter has fueled me to start training harder now- be warned. The owl will fly through the mud in blackley.
Oh when the blues...go marching in...
I wondered what that dummy was doing by the finish line after the race!

I'm still swimming 4 times a week, and every session ranges from 2-3 miles. Not only does it keep you ticking over, but i think it improves your upper body strenght, so when comes to those hills, you should fire up them!
Get yourself down to the pool danbert!

Top man Chaddy, top man.
I still do three swimming sessions a week and i've got my mile time down to 42 minutes (i know that's not fast compared to what your averge member of Manchester Tri club is probably doing but believe me it's bloody quick for me.)
I've been banging out a minimum of 3 sessions a week for over a year now and i honestly reckon overall my general fitness has never been better.
I also reckon that a swim helps you to recover the day after a hard run or a race. If you're feeling a bit sore, a good swim in place of a recovery run does it every time for me.
See you in the Clough.

Agreed that swimming is a good fitness maintainer when you can't run. I go once a week the day after a hard session as an alternative to an easy run. It's the only time the upper body gets some proper exercise... mind you, it's not much fun when Chaddy comes gliding past twice as fast
Hope it doesn't rain too much before Boggy Hole or I'll be treading through some deep water with feathers on the top.
