So a year on, has anybody anything more to say about Gore running wear?
I’ve just been looking at the coats, following a recommendation and they’re pretty pricey. Do they offer any additional benefits to the most expensive coats from other brands, such as Decathlon?
I have gore softshell jacket ( although it's a cycling one, though i don't think there's much difference ? ) and a biemme softshell from decathlon...
both are windproof, breathable and fleecy on the inside
decathlon one half the price and a little too warm to run in on all but the coldest of days, gore one is a bit more versatlie though still it would have to be pretty cold to run in it
generally i prefer more layers and thinner rather than 'next to skin ' type stuff
Cheers Triathlon
Well all I’m really after, is staying warm and dry without overheating – so as long as the outer layer does this, I guess I can just layer up to suit. Do you know of any good jackets/outer layers that will do this?
my pesonal favourite item of clothing is an ulta thin ( thinner than HH lifa ), ie very breathable Provision cycling long sleeve top; it's fully windproof but not the membrane type that gore do, so you don't over heat anywhere like as easily...infact you can almost see through it !
I wear it in windy fell races, 3 peaks cx, hilly or cold triathlons etc...packs down really small and light too so it's very versatile
it's part of my club kit and cost around £60 i think
