(I wouldn't have a line if it wasn't necessary for broadband)

And my parents are about 1000 miles away ...
Any the in laws about 7000 miles away ...

Anyone uses the phone less ?

Our calls this quarter were £3.30 and the bill was £14.15.
You need to get a low user rebate and pay by direct debit!
(Previous quarter was under £10 !!!)

On a similar note.... I have to pay my own bill for my company mobile phone, and then claim it back less any personal calls after recalculating the VAT element myself. There aren't any personal calls because I have another phone for that. The Vodafone bills have to be charged to a company Amex card. So each month I get a phone bill charged to an Amex card, which I then have to pay and then fill in an expenses claim to get the money back. Total monthly phone bill for work? Usually about 20p ! Apparently this is 'more efficient'. Go figure....

I'm the same as others, I only have a landline to get broadband, although my aged parents are convinced that it still costs billions to call a mobile even for a short call!

How is this possible ? BT says the line rental is 10.50 per month (maybe 9.50, whatever...). I understand this is the very minimum one pays.

same in my house - if the landline rings, it is either my best mate little karen who struggles to get a mobile signal in her house, and so ringing the landline is free from hers, or more often DER DERRR DERRRRRRR.... my mother
