There's been perpetual blizzard conditions since about 10pm yesterday roaring over the fells and the house roof and it's not abated yet. Most of the windows have been 'rendered' with snow and ice. The drifts are particularly deep and the standard, single bladed snow plough couldn't hack it this morning so had to be replaced by one of the double-bladed type often seen in the front of iconic wild west trains. This eventually allowed the plough to punch through the drift in the lane behind the house (340 metre Above SL)and farmers from down the dale have a better chance of tractoring feed to their stock. It won't be clear for long though!
