Stopped me working. A right blizzard at about 3.00 in the Washburn Valley. The drive home was challenging.

I ended up leaving my car four miles from home last night and walking back in a foul blizzard. It took me four hours in total from getting off the M62 at the M606 junction to Haworth / Oakworth area. Roll on spring

And there's me complaining about a little bit of black ice on the roads this morning. Mind you, I've already come off my bike twice this Winter on ice, so I'm being rather careful.

it's hoofing down at the moment in Birmingham, and has been on and off for a couple of days, but nothing has settled. I think the worst is supposed to hit tomorrow.

Was -5c walking across the city centre to the office this morning. The first day of the year that I've felt the need to put on a 'big coat' (ok it was my OMM jacket held together by masking tape, but it did the job).

Noticeably cold last night (as I walked to the post-box in my shorts), and again this morning, the wind chill must be huge, my face was actually quite sore after the 15 minute walk to the office.

No significant snow to speak of, perhaps half an inch where it's settled, but apparently the heavier snow will hit the midlands later and tonight.
