Good race this one!!!
Its only a C category and has a fair bit on tarmac but dont let that fool you. Theres some good muddy bits and loads of fast moorland. Last years race left a few hypothermic runners shivering into the cool showers in the fire station, but the hot tea and soup afterwards thawed us out. Quite a few of the Northumberland, Tynedale & Durham runners have a good battle every year and Keswick & Dark Peak send the ODD runner.
See you there

Are we allowed to set traps for them?
Thats a grand idea cos it's the only way we'll catch 'em

After consultation and inspecting the course The Hexhamshire Hobble will not
be run this coming Sunday December 5th.
It will no surprise to hear that this is due to the wind, low temperatures and depth of snow on the access roads and on the fells. From information currently available there appears to be a low probability of improvement by Sunday.
We would be grateful if you could post a notice on your website advising that we are proposing to reschedule the Hobble for Sunday January 9th.
We will be posting updates on our website

Crikey that was a cold one! After about 20 minutes into the race we were greeted with strong winds and a heavy snow fall. In no time the snow was sticking onto exposed runners rendering legs and face completely numb. My face felt like it does after a visit to the dentist, that horrible numbing sensation.
Congratulations to Ben Adbelnoor on his comfortable win, really great to see Ben back running after a lengthy lay off with injury.
Many thanks to all involved, especially the cheery marshals braving the elements. The cake selection was very impressive and went down a treat.
Hope everyone is now fully thawed out.
