My originally planned 'Meirionnydd Round' had 50 tops. On the day I completed a round of 47. See http://yiannistridimas.tripod.com/. If this does not put you off, I can tell you about the extra three.

The Paddy Buckley is 47 isn't it?, but you could also include the Northern Carneddau Peaks, Lliwedd and Gallt yr Wenaullt (sp) on Snowdon, then back up to Crib Goch, and the extra peaks on the Glyders (Carnedd y Filiast and Y Foel Goch). Some of the Paddy Bukcley 'peaks' really do push the bounds though. I'd emit Cribau Tregalan and the 'mound' you go over after Y Gyrn as you ascend to Nantlle Ridge. You can also add Foel Ddu? before Bryn Banog on the Moelwyns.

A nice hill to include would be an isolate marilyn, in that heathery area south of Llyn Dinas, before you get to the back road that goes to Gelli Iago. Can't remember its name, only 400m ish high but a nice hill that would link up the Cnicht to the Hebog and remove the road section.

If you need any support give us a shout.

Looks like you have your challenge Simon!

Moel Ddu is the one behind the cottage - quite steep on the N side overlooking Bryn Banog - a natural start / finish point ? - champagne on ice already!

Iain - totally agree with you on the pimple after Y Gryn - technically Mynydd y Ddwy Elor - actually not really a summit at all, just a spur off the ridge!

    Bring it on

That's it. We did it the day after the Peris this year in 60+ mph winds. Nice area in there and apart from the llyn Dinas>Cwm Bychan path you see very few people.

Boy Wonder!! That is a VERY naughty suggestion. I had thought of making Pete's Eats the start/finish (Gog's version of Moot Hall) but, now you mention it, Chez Boy Wonder has a magnetic attraction to it!
Gonna look at the maps again!

    Re: 50 at 50

I am developing an unhealthy obsession with Yiannis's round, been looking at a couple of sections the last 2 weekends. Viewing much of it from the top of my favourite Arran Fawddy, I thought ..... oooh err, that really has everything (including the North Rhinogs ). Will take me ages to recce it all on my own as I have to do 'out and back' each time - but will enjoy the days out even if I never manage the 24 hour round.

The 50 sounds good, but not sure I really want to traipse round the Snowdon-ruddy-horseshoe yet again. Be good to incorporate the less popular areas and peaks.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

You know, I was thinking of deliberately excluding the Snowdon massif for the self same reason! Starting at OBW Hall gives us an opportunity for a more individual approach to the challenge.
