    Garmin software how accurate?

I've just invested in a Garmin 305 and I'm using a Mac so as yet I can't use Sports Track.

I'm just looking at 3 different bits of software, the software that comes with the Garmin, Motion Based and Ascent and each software is giving me a different reading on the amount of ascent on last nights run, 1,600ft, 1,700ft and 2,000ft?

Has anyone haad anything like this, from software to software?

I've just had a muck about with this for my run on Tuesday,

    Garmin Training Centre - 791'

Sporttracks - 369' ascent 339' descent (which is odd as I started and stopped at the same place!)

    Motionbased - +1,112' / -1,069'

    Tracklogs mapping - 184'

There is no way the motionbased or Garmin ones are right!

But how do you know the sports track is right?

I can't get sports track so I need to find some software that will give me an accurate reading

Personally I'd go with the Tracklogs O/S stuff being the most accurate!

Seems like Tracklogs only works on a PC.

But from how it logged your Tuesday run it seems miles out from the others?

Yes, I know but it's a pancake flat road run,

That and take the mice out, I suppose.

I'm developing a sprout pancake for Christmas use.

It's going to have twinkly lights and everything.

Import the route into Memory Map or similar and this usually gives a sensible distance/height.
