...on running?
I've read "Feet in the Clouds" a couple of times, as well as a book on Coe and Ovett's rivalry... anything else I might enjoy over the christmas period to inspire me to get off my backside and onto the moors?
Thanks

Once I'd started reading "Ultramarathon Man - Confessions of an all night runner" by Dean Karnazes I had the same problem with putting it down as I did with Feet in the Clouds. Very inspiring to get you out.
I've fairly recently read "The Thrill of Victory: The Agony of My Feet", which is a collection of short accounts by various American adventure racers. Some of the things they go through are pretty inspiring too. Or you just end up thinking 'nutter'. Shortly followed by I'd like to give that a go...
Ooo good thread this, well done crowhill. I have got 2 months in BBC prison coming up and will have a lot of reading time on my hands
Big fan of "Ultramarathon Man" too
Survival of the Fittest by Mike Stroud. (the brains behind the Ranulph Fiennes expeditions)
A great read! Lets you know that impossible distances are not impossible, in fact that is what we humans are designed for. All about his adventures mixed in with his views on human evolution.
Crowhill, you should have a go at Running High by Hugh symmonds, quite inspiring! Have a word with Steve Smithies (think he will be at Hot Toddy), he has my copy.
Merry Christmas,
Gaz
Mike Cudahy's Wild trails to far horizons is excellent, but not easy to find (i borrowed it form the library a couple of years ago).
Not actually fell running, but very related : - "Hell of a Journey" by Mike Cawthorne - a continuous winter walk ( 6th Nov - mid March ) across the 1,000metre peaks of Scotland, absolutely rivetting.
