Fantastic that £200 was still raised, hopefully the conditions don't worsen and the community spirit still shines through
Always best to check a race is on before traveling especially when you know conditions are bad ,just think how silly you would feel if you all got stranded and became a further burden on resources ...plenty of other races

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I set off to this race at 9.30am, I don't do mugbook and the time that was posted on here saying cancelled was 10.32am

A bit wet on M62 and on bottom road where the race started while traveling to Marl sports centre.

Correct decision was made to cancel and I made the return journey safely.

Thanks again to RO in his efforts.

I did check before travelling and nothing had been posted, was more than half way there when I found out so continued to drive to see if all was okay at Marl Pits as the weather was terrible, they even offered free mince pies and brews if we wanted them. Spoke to Steve Bateson on the car park at the Leisure Centre and he correctly predicted that the RV 10k the next day would be called off also...

Massive thanks to the RO and helpers who had already flagged the route in terrible conditions

I took photos on my phone of the results board in Marl Pits on the day - you'll have to download the images and then zoom in but it worked when I tried it and was quite legible, although not the best. Hope that helps mate

Think i'm coming over for this one, but i'm struggling with my kit. Does anyone have any advice, girls probably, on ironing a nylon school skirt? It seems to be getting knackered by the iron and using it on the steam setting seems to be too hot. It's not like i'll ever need this thing again, but i don't like the idea of not turning up looking my best, what with there being prizes and all.
