    End of race drinks buckets!!

Does anyone else have tummy upsets a day or so after running a long fell race? I just had a flashback and the water bucket at the end of last years Borrowdale springs to mind as a likely culprit. It was a very wet and muddy race with a fair few falls and bloody wounds - I eventually got to the finish gasping for a drink and, with me finishing a good way down the field, I dive straight into the bucket with whatever (already used) plastic cup is to hand despite all the flotsam and jetsum floating about therein....... mmmm, looovely. Then I have three or four more cupfulls.

24 hours later and my bottom falls out

was really hot, and was grateful to see a water bucket ahead
gurgled down a plastic cupful before the marshal said

    mmmmm... diluted horse slobber...

I didn't see the water bucket, actually.

Was it anywhere near the toilet bucket? That was a very welcome sight, and very conveniently placed at the finish as well.

Worst thing I tasted was on a marathon last year. You had a choice at the drink stations - water, isotonic or *orange*.

Picked the orange first (and only) time and discovered it was some of that diluted sugar-free rubbish loading with artificial sweeteners. Bleuchh.

I mean, you're running an endurance race and they offer you sugar-free!!!! What's that all about?
