I'll be at this one. It's a good little race, mainly on trails, with a huge prize list (not that I ever get near the prizes) Be nice to see some recognition for the younger end as well as the vets though.

Be warned, the long uphill finish is character building

The race does not always go to the swift, but to the ones who keep running

I am hoping to come along and take photos not running as doing the Helsby Half Marathon on Sunday.

Whys this not in the fell race section?

    I'm doing it.

    It is all runnable.
Starts on the road for about half a mile downhill. Coninues downhill for another half mile of farm track. Cross a road down more farm track over the canal and up a public footpath to the wiggin tree pub. Along the road or the grass verge. Down another path in some woods. Watch out for the duck boards they are slippy. Keep going down hill. Over a stile and across a very muddy field. (I ran it the other week and it was very very muddy) Down another muddy path to the canal. Back up the way you came but about quarter of a mile before where you started you turn of to the right along another path that climbs fairly steeply across a field to the some woods and the beacon at the top.

Been round this route with Sinatra and it is a crackin course and well worth doing even with the uphill finish.

It is a cracking course and even better as its only 3 miles from my house. It is going to be muddy and I mean muddy in places. I ran it two weeks ago and its the wettest I've ever seen it in places.

It is, Danbert, although us mere mortals have severe doubts towards the end.
