Don't know mate. After first 15miles flat out, i thought the wheels would fall off.
Just set into a pace and stick to it, eat and drink loads and push yourself through the bad patches,.

Great Race, has really reignited by interest in 24hr+ outings after rather detached experiences of the Wessex 100 and the West Highland Way race in May and June. Good to see Brit Nick and Zlod afterwards. I'd hazard that the night nav and all the crap underfoot cancel out the height-gained differential with the UTMB, making this a pretty true UK equivalent (only it would take a revolution to get the shoppers in Pooley Bridge to cheer like the locals in Courmayeur). Utterly knackered, but nice to be able take advantage of gravity down to create the impression of motion into Coniston dawn Sunday.

Not sure about this. 105 miles and 31,000 feet is quite a bit more; along with the likelyhood of more extreme weather i.e. heat and humidity last year; plus an average altitude of about 5,000 feet. Will all cancel the nav and rocks out by quite a bit I recon. Altough it is getting tempting to have a go next year and find out for myself. If it atracts an atmosphere anything like the TMB I will deffinitely give it a go.
However I think it has deffinitely taken the mantle of toughest UK ultra.

Well done to all those that finished the 50 and the 100, one thing that is not in queation is that they both look to be tough races.

It was good to meet you West End and Zlod and loads of others. Well done Cantona - a most excellent 50 time.

Congratulations West End and all others who completed the 100.

Regarding the comparison with UTMB, everyone I have spoken to who has done both says that the L100 is tougher, due mainly to terrain and navigation issues. I will get to find out for myself very soon.
