Were you doing crawl Mud?

Emmilou, if Mud starts gaining on you try squeezing out a little wee . I've heard that Sharon Davies used to do this to distract competitors .......on the other hand you don't want to encourage him.
I've just decided I don't trust you anymore.
Yes. I would call it freestyle, but there is no style to my swimming.Originally Posted by fellhell

Now I know I'm not going to sink much, I'm going to start trying to find out what my technique should actually be. I'm currently much splashier with quicker arms than anyone else - I guess as strength and technique improves you go futher for each more efficient stroke.
I actually had some swimming lessons...25+ years since I started swimming.
I used to be pretty quick at swimming breaststroke but was knackered after a few lengths, after the lesson I was swimming quicker whilst doing less work, if you can find a good instructor it makes a lot of difference....well it does if your technique was as sh*t as mine!!
Haven't managed to master front crawl yet, this breathing lark confuses me!
I have to admit to having a little wee when I was doing an openwater swim. The bar steward behind me who was draughting kept touching my feet and after the 10th time I just had to do it!
It's clear now that people who can swim well are not human - they must have gills or something.
Swam 800m breaststroke in 32½ minutes - i can't say it was really tiring as such, just so very uncomfortable for me.
Just can't get my head to go under the water at all, it just feels horribly enclosed.

it gets better with practice honest!
