    Running Offa's Dyke

Has anybody run the complete Offa's Dyke route, was thinking of spending a weeks holiday running it this year. If anyone has any information or tips be great to hear from you. 177 miles in total.

The Missus walked all but one section a few years back, but this was over a summer of weekends. Fairly easy to follow (waymarked) and though some of it is great countryside you have to accept the 'inbetween bits' where sections are not quite so inspiring. But if you are running you can rattle through them pretty quick.

I still reckon the pembroke coastal path would be the best challenge. Next year for certain

You'll be able to perfect your stile hurdling technique. There are hundreds of them.

Start here. 186 miles with 35,000 feet of climbing. I haven't been down there for years which is a shame as it's a beautiful place.

looks like offa's dyke is just the warm up then

" its 35,000 feet of ascent and descent is said to be equivalent to climbing Everest "

I'm sure a lot of people think of it as a nice stroll along the cliff tops, which it is. But the bloody path goes up....down....up....down....up.....doen...for ever. It's great.

Then you can stop at all the little villages en route and scoff dressed crab , which I'm sure are very nutritious ??

I might be up for a bit of company if you fancy it on Day 1 or 2 of your Offa's Dyke expedition?

I've entered the Offa's 'Orra on the 29th April, it's a half, that follows a section of the trail. I've never run there before so it will be an interesting race. maybe wet my appetite for doing the whole thing one day...
