    Well done lads!

Although the cloud had lifted it was well windy when I saw you for the second time above edale. I would expect that made it quite tough going on the snake pass side.

How long were you out for?

I also saw the Downfall blowing straight back up and over the top, v. impressive. A few weeks ago it was frozen solid and a couple lads where ice climbing on it!

White Van is bit poorly at moment ....
Was mostly round today (did have a little lie in )...
    Out road biking this afternoon/eve....
nice "little" hilly tour around local back lanes (honest!)..
Anyway, well done lads great run,
Daz your right under the Downfall is a very special spot,
when summer arrives & its dry.....
we'll scramble up the waterfall on Thurs Training Sesh'..
might even fit in a Extinguisher Chimney for good measure!

(15 Trigs Next then!?.... I'll join you for that one!)

Ken Jones the man who came up with the route has it as 33 mile and just over 9000ft If you PM me your email address I'll send you the full route.

The Dozen is Harder and shorter! 10000ft+ and 24 miles Both routes have been posted by myself earlier on the Forum, I'll try a search later.

I have another 5 routes by Ken to do all based around the Peak. Ken will be at the Skyline again this year so if any one wants to say hi to him give me a shout.

It was another Grand Day Out on the Killer on Saturday. Many other runners out and about as well as the walkers, but one of the things about the Killer and the Dozen is that they take you right off the beaten track to those fantastic gems of Kinder, particularly the cloughs. I found Jagger's Cough very interesting as there seemed to have been a landslip about two thirds of the way up, and a mixture of peat, sand and stones had been deposited high up the banks for hundreds of metres below that point. I'd never been so far up the River Kinder before, and the perspective of the Downfall from below with the water blowing upwards is so dramatic.

So many wonderful places I haven't been before! Can't wait for the next outing.

We started from Bowden Bridge near Hayfield and joined the route at the stile at Kinderlow End 067866, completed the circuit to the same stile, including the two optional trigs and returned to Bowden Bridge. According to Tracklogs, the total outing was was 32.2 miles and 9850ft climb, so the 33 miles and 10,000ft is a bit over the top, but a tough outing nevertheless.

I'm definitely up for more trips like that, and at the Skyline would love to meet the man who came up with these crazy challenges.

So what else is there other than the Trigs and the Four Counties?

    Non are as hilly as the KK or KD but we have;

'Derwent Valley Skyline'- 26 miles- a shorter version of the HPM from Ashopton by Ladybowyer following Derwent Edge North via Cartledge rocks until Bleaklow Stones then head south all the way down Alport until you return to starting point.
'Dark Peak Stones' 32 miles- Start Snake Summit takes in 28 'Stones' around Derwent valley+ finish on Snake just north of Head 'Stone'. this could be extended to take in large number of Kinder Stones . ( or how about 12 hours to collect as many 'stones' in the peak) must say stones on DP OS map
'Dam Long Walk/Run'- definitely a trail run- 50 miles taking in 33 reservoirs around Blackhill.
'Round the Reservoirs' similar type of route to the above but taking in all the reservoirs around Derwent Edge -30 miles takes in Langsett and Broomhead (1mile from my house) Dale Dike- Strines etc start and Finish at Fairholmes or Ashopton
Ken also has a route named 'Dark Peak Snake' but It's only 21 miles and it cuts out an obvious section so with my extra bit makes 29 miles.
From Snake summit follow PW to Mill hill then take the Northeren edge of Kinder past Crookstone Knoll. down to Hagg farm and back along Alport to Bleaklow Stones returning via HPM route to SS.
