Split times, thanks to the electronic timing are also available. These show for me that I managed to be 34th at the first summit of Black Combe, but ended up finishing 58th 'cos I floundered around a bit in the mist trying to find the south summit checkpoint after the second climb.
Thank you to Black Combe runners for organising an excellent event!
Looks like it was a sprint finish for 2nd and 3rd. Gutted not to be there. A classic course. Anyone who liked the last ascent should give the Tebay race a go in June.
Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.
great race started really well got lost after last check point, map and compass was out. was wanting under 130 ended with 135 so bit niffed. some good down hill on this one.

I'm still disappointed with my run - looking at the split times makes it even more depressing. I seem to have been consistently poor! but at least I was in good company as my pals from CFR made sure I didnt get too lost in the mist. and the journey there and back was fun too - thanks cobbydale for organising it. (and the honour of wearing one of your club vests)
