The way forwards is backwards - say it loud Imperial and proud!

    I don't care.

I reckon we should be less scientific about it as race organisers seem to make up the distance and the height so what does it matter if they make it up in metres or ft.

Can we not just say "3 bloody great big hills and a long way" Be more accurate that AL for the same race. No prizes for guessing the race.

NO option for both? Like I say, they both have their uses. Diversity is good, so if they must use metric for fellraces (like that has anything to do with their popularity!) then why not put both on? Then you're attracting a larger target audience!
    I'm so naughty!!!!!!

I'm not really bothered as either way you are running the same distance and i believe it's good for every one to know how to convert them, helps pass the time on the long runs....

Now if they were to remeasure to get an accurate distance/height gain that would be something to look forward to.

Here's a radical suggestion - how about both!

I think the pastime of golf should get it's act together - yards, what's all that about in a metric world? Also 18 holes should be rounded up to 20, a nice round number. Football could also come into metric line, yard boxes, 10 yard rule, it's time for change - 90 minutes, round it up to 100, so idiosyncratic. So many things need overhauling/simplyfying - tennis scoring, there's another crazy numbering system. Metric needs to be enforced on us all, a bit like the Euro was on mainland Europe erradicating all those stupid pesky interesting and history rich currencies that were steeped in tradition and added value and interest to a trip abroad.

I think it's quite telling that the poll (when I checked just now) is level pegging for all three.....! That never happens!

    Don't mind personally.
